As a result of an improving investment climate and a growing consumer base, African countries are becoming major players in the manufacture of Green Technologies. The growth in manufacturing is in turn leading to increased potential for South-South trade development.
In response to consumer concerns about climate change, retailers are developing carbon labels that provide information about the carbon footprint of products. Carbon labeling is an important market differentiation tool for retailers, and many suppliers are now required to measure emissions in production, processing and transport.
